Dawa Tarchin Phillips

Dawa Tarchin Phillips is a "tech monk", serial founder, executive, investor, author, speaker and polymath, and belongs to a new generation of international conscious business leaders. He currently serves as President and Founder of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association® (IMTA). He is also Founder and CEO of TAIWA®, Founder of Empowerment Holdings®, a mindful leadership coaching and consulting company for gifted and disruptive CEOs and Executive Teams, and an Advisor of H2C.

He is co-founder and former Director of Education of the University of California's Center for Mindfulness and Human Potential where he and his team did extensive and groundbreaking research on mindfulness in education and cognitive performance in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, The Templeton Foundation and the Fetzer Institute. As an advanced meditation practitioner for over 30 years, Dawa is a former monk who lived twelve years in a Buddhist monastery, completed two 3-year meditation retreats and is a well-regarded senior Dharma and meditation teacher. He teaches internationally and is resident teacher at the Bodhi Path Center in Santa Barbara, CA.

Dawa is a trusted business leader, researcher and subject matter expert and has been a guest lecturer and advisor at numerous academic and educational institutions, including MIT, Harvard, Yale, UCLA, UCSB, Cal Poly and the American Chamber of Commerce.

Born in NYC, he grew up internationally and speaks English, German and French fluently. He lives with his family in Santa Barbara, California.
